In order to meet the increasing travel demand of passengers during the peak summer of 2026 and the National Day holiday of September 2nd, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just announced adjustments to the parameters for coordinating take-off and landing times (slots) at Noi Bai International Airport.
Accordingly, in two peak periods from July 15 to August 15, 2026 and from August 24 to September 6, 2026, the coordination parameter in the domestic departure terminal area is increased to 17 flights/hour. At the same time, the operating capacity in the runway area and flight operation service in the time frame from 6:00 AM to 23:59 PM (Hanoi time) is increased from 42 flights/hour to 44 flights/hour.
This is a solution to improve passenger service capacity in the context of the expected sharp increase in air travel demand during the summer and National Day holidays.
Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also adjusted the slot coordination parameter at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Accordingly, from June 15 to September 6, 2026, the coordinating parameters for runways, landings, taxiways and flight operation assurance services at Tan Son Nhat airport will be increased to 46 flights/hour in the time frame from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM (Hanoi time).
According to Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Uong Viet Dung, the implementation of adjusting to increase the slot coordination parameter at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat International Airports is being implemented by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam in a flexible, efficient, and economical direction through reviewing actual operating capacity, optimizing peak hours, contributing to improving operating capacity and maintaining passenger service quality during the summer peak and National Day 2/9.
