Hanoi - The Chairman of the City People's Committee has just signed a telegram to strengthen urban order maintenance and ensure environmental sanitation, in which the head must take responsibility.

To strengthen the work of maintaining urban order and ensuring environmental sanitation during the organization of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and important events, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh has just signed a telegram requesting relevant units to review and arrange collection locations for garbage storage and garbage collection vehicles to ensure suitability and not affect the urban landscape.

Require the Department of Agriculture and Environment to be responsible for reviewing and developing flexible and effective operation plans for centralized waste treatment areas (Nam Son, Xuan Son) to ensure continuous and safe waste reception and treatment. Facilitate garbage trucks to incineration plants to reduce the amount of waste treated by landfill, avoid stagnation and congestion.

Continue to advise on innovating equipment and means for environmental sanitation; invest in modern machinery and equipment, applying new technology in waste collection and transportation. Increase investment in management technology, install surveillance camera systems in "black spot" areas for waste.

The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee also directed the department to strengthen the maintenance of hygiene and road washing on key routes (central areas, routes at risk of pollution due to large traffic volume).

At the same time, mobilize and propagate people not to burn straw, convert livestock to reduce emissions, guide the collection and treatment of packaging of pesticides and hazardous waste in agriculture, especially in specialized areas and suburban areas.

Strengthen inspection, supervision and strict handling of violations of environmental sanitation regulations, especially in public areas, "black spots" for waste, traditional markets, construction works, and key roads.

The Department of Construction must strictly handle violations of urban order such as encroachment on roads and sidewalks to gather construction materials and construction waste. At the same time, organize inspections of construction works, promptly rectify violations of construction order and construction hygiene.

Strictly handle means of transport transport carrying construction materials, construction waste that do not cover or drop during transportation; vehicles and equipment entering and leaving the construction site that generate mud and dirt onto the streets.

Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited and environmental sanitation units must increase the frequency of garbage collection, road washing, and fog spraying in main streets, public areas, and residential areas that often generate waste and dirt, causing environmental pollution.

Heads of departments, branches, sectors, Chairmen of People's Committees of wards and communes are personally responsible to the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the work of maintaining urban order and ensuring environmental sanitation in the area and areas under their charge.
