Helping people settle down and make a living
According to statistics from the Social Policy Bank, Dak Lak province branch, in 2024, the entrusted capital increased by more than 103 billion VND, reaching 103.9% of the central plan assigned in 2024.
By the end of 2024, the total capital entrusted from the local budget reached more than 538 billion VND, accounting for 6.67% of the total implemented capital.
Regarding the implementation of credit balance growth, in 2024, the unit will have a total loan turnover of about 2.3 trillion VND (an increase of more than 200 billion VND compared to 2023).
The province has had more than 47,492 poor households, near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries borrow capital to develop their household economy. In addition, overdue debt is still controlled at a stable level by affiliated branches.

Recently, the Bank for Social Policies, Dak Lak province branch, has actively coordinated with local authorities to promote propaganda and effectively implement the social housing loan program.
From this source of capital, many officials, civil servants and low-income workers have realized their dream of settling down, contributing to ensuring social security.
For example, the case of Mr. Le Van Luan and his wife (workers in Buon Trap town, Krong Ana district, Dak Lak province). Previously, the couple had to rent a house for more than 3 years. Thanks to access to capital, Mr. Luan was able to build a solid house for himself and stabilize his life.
Mr. Luan shared: “For my family, building this house is a great spiritual encouragement. We have worked hard all our lives but never dared to dream of having a decent home. Thanks to preferential loans combined with savings and additional borrowing, I was able to build a spacious house with full amenities. The total value of the house is 750 million VND.”
After the house was completed, in addition to the basic living expenses of the family, Mr. Luan and his wife both set aside a sum of money to gradually pay off the debt with preferential interest rates. Because the interest rate was quite low, the couple had a stable life.
Ensure lending to the right target
Mr. Dao Thai Hoa - Director of the Bank for Social Policies, Dak Lak province branch shared: "The locality is a mountainous province with many difficulties. The rate of poor and near-poor households in the province is still high compared to the national average. In recent years, the authorities have focused on implementing national target programs on sustainable poverty reduction and new rural construction...".
According to Mr. Hoa, in order for the above policies to be effectively implemented, we have requested that competent authorities continue to pay attention to increasing preferential credit sources for Dak Lak province.
The Provincial People's Committee needs to direct relevant units, departments and branches to transfer entrusted capital from the local budget in 2024 to the social policy bank. Thereby, promptly meeting the needs of poor households and other policy beneficiaries in the area.
“Localities should focus on inspecting the use of capital by borrowers, ensuring that loans are given to the right people, that loans are used for the right purposes and effectively. Authorities need to promote their role in inspecting, supervising and providing social feedback on the implementation of social policy credit in the province,” Mr. Hoa added.
