On August 1st, Mr. Lo Dinh Thu - Chairman of the People's Committee of Muong Xen commune, Nghe An province, said that a stilt house fire had just occurred in the area, injuring one person.
At about 6:30 am on the same day, the 2-compartment stilt house of Mr. Moong Van Duon's family, residing in Nhan Ly village, Muong Xen commune, suddenly caught fire fiercely.
Discovering the incident, the family and surrounding people used on-site vehicles to put out the fire and reported it to the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, the police force, the Military Command of the commune, border guards and local authorities quickly arrived and coordinated to fight the fire.
Because the house was made of flammable materials, with many household items inside, the fire spread quickly. After a short time, the house and all assets inside were burned down.
During the fire fighting, a resident was injured in the hand and was taken to the commune health station for first aid.
According to Muong Xen Commune People's Committee, the house is used by the family as a kitchen and worshiping place. Initial estimated damage is about 80-100 million VND.
The cause of the fire is being verified by functional forces; initially suspected to be an electrical short circuit.
After the fire was controlled, local authorities and support forces helped the family clean up the scene, compile damage statistics and complete dossiers to consider support according to regulations.
