When the crowd gradually dissipated after the preliminary parade and parade (August 27), somewhere on the streets of Hanoi, many young people had lingered, quietly collecting garbage, and sweeping with environmental workers.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Pham Thi Huong (20 years old, Hanoi) said that in recent days, she often took the opportunity to watch gatherings, pre-show off parades and stay to clean up trash after each session. Huong said that the pick-up of trash was not only done tonight but before that, on August 21 and 24, Huong and her friends participated together.
"Since August 21, when we saw the street full of garbage, my friends and I have participated in picking up garbage, contributing a small part to help the tourists less work. We understand that the teachers also want to be seen practicing like everyone else, but they have to work until 1-2am. Therefore, the group just hopes to join hands a little to share" - Huong said.

The journey to clean up trash also left Huong with many unforgettable stories. "We just went, jostling in the crowd, but when we arrived at the place where we were cleaning up together and listening to the teachers tell the story, we felt extremely happy" - Huong recalled.
According to Huong, clearing the streets is also a way to convey patriotism during the holiday season. "For us, that small act is also patriotism" - Huong shared.


In Trang Tien area (Hanoi), along with a few friends, Nguyen Thien Trang - 22 years old, living in Hanoi - patiently picked up every piece of garbage left, from plastic bottles, plastic bags to the scrap metal sheets on the sidewalk.
Trang shared that at first, you just thought of keeping your standing area neat. But when she saw a lot of garbage, Trang decided to spend more time cleaning up with her friends.
"For me, cleaning up after events is not just a simple cleaning job, but also a way to express the awareness and responsibility of the young generation to the community. picking up a piece of garbage can also contribute to keeping the city clean and beautiful and expressing love for where you live" - Trang said.
