In late August, Lao Dong reporters recorded the urgent construction atmosphere at many construction sites of the project to renovate the longest canal in Ho Chi Minh City (Tham Luong canal - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal).

In particular, a section of the road along the canal in the Cho Cau bridge area (An Tay Hoi ward, Ho Chi Minh City) has been paved with crushed stone, preparing asphalt for exploitation. Machinery and motor vehicles are operating continuously, workers are focusing on construction day and night to speed up progress.
A few kilometers away, in the area near Tham Luong bridge (Dong Hung Thuan ward), the canal road has been basically completed. Because the project passes through densely populated areas and has been inhabited for many years, as soon as the site was leveled and temporarily paved, people took advantage of the opportunity to use it for convenient travel.

The construction speed on the canal area passing through Binh Hung Hoa ward is also very urgent. For the section near the National Highway 1A intersection, the stake pressing and concrete embankment have been completed, while other items are still empty.
In particular, the section near Binh Long Street (about half a kilometre away), many workers are urgently constructing, machinery is operating continuously, and raw materials are being densely gathered to serve the progress. The bustling atmosphere at the construction site shows the determination to finish on time for the project.

When completed, the canal road will help shorten the travel distance for residents in Binh Hung Hoa, Vinh Loc areas..., people do not have to go around and contribute to reducing the load on many neighboring traffic routes.
According to the plan, on September 2, some sections in the 6 packages of the project will be put into initial operation. By the end of 2025, the entire route is expected to be completed for technical traffic, and by December 31, 2026, the entire project will be completed, officially handed over and put into use.
