On February 15, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Dak Lak Provincial Police) said that since the beginning of 2025, there have been two major fires in Ea H'Leo district and Buon Ma Thuot city, causing damage of nearly 450 million VND.
Both fires were large-scale, the fire spread widely, and were difficult to extinguish. More than 30 officers, soldiers and specialized vehicles were able to control the fire. Fortunately, there were no human casualties in the fires.
In 2024, Dak Lak also experienced dozens of small and medium-sized fires, causing significant property damage.
Mr. D, owner of an electronic equipment store in Tan Loi ward (Buon Ma Thuot city) admitted that the store has many electrical equipment, which poses a potential risk of fire and explosion. However, he was once subjective and forgot to turn off his electrical equipment when going out. The fire extinguisher in the store is also broken but has not been replaced...
Major Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, said that fire prevention work has made a lot of progress but the situation is still complicated. The fires mainly occurred at production and business establishments, warehouses, markets, etc.
Many people are not fully aware of fire prevention and fighting, leading to a subjective mentality. Many businesses still lack fire protection equipment, posing a high risk of fire and explosion.

Major Long said that in recent years, the province has invested in facilities and modern equipment to improve the ability to respond quickly to fire and explosion incidents.
The locality also established grassroots fire fighting teams and organized training to help these forces coordinate effectively in case of emergency situations.
"The province has many forests, the risk of fire in the dry season is very high. We are taking preventive measures. In particular, there are measures to promote propaganda for people to limit forest burning, clear vegetation and create firebreaks," Major Long emphasized.
