On November 4, a source from Lao Dong Newspaper reported that the People's Committee of Tien Giang province has approved the environmental impact assessment of four investment projects to exploit sand mines in the area.
Accordingly, the Hoa Hung - 4 sand filling mine (Hoa Hung commune, Cai Be district, Tien Giang province) is owned by Hoang Hai Joint Stock Company, with a total land and water surface area of the exploitation area of 23.2238ha. The mineral reserves allowed to be mobilized for exploitation design are 1,858,031m3. Of which, the sand filling (geological reserve level 122, calculated to cote -20m) is 835,298m3. The accompanying secondary minerals, the soil stripped from the sand layer during sand exploitation (geological reserve level 122, calculated to cote 20m) is 1,022,733m3, the exploitation capacity is 400,000 m3/year (in monolithic blocks). The project implementation period is a mine life of 4.7 years; the time for environmental rehabilitation, restoration and mine closure is 6 months.
Hoa Hung - 5 sand filling mine (Hoa Hung commune, Cai Be district, Tien Giang province) is owned by Hoang Hai Joint Stock Company, with an exploitation capacity of 400,000 m3/year (monolithic), project implementation time of mine life of 4.2 years; time for environmental rehabilitation, restoration and mine closure of 6 months.
Hoa Khanh - 1 sand mine (Hoa Khanh commune, Cai Be district, Tien Giang province) is invested by Tien Giang Construction Materials Joint Stock Company, with an exploited water surface area of 14,881ha. The mineral reserves allowed to be included in the exploitation design have a geological reserve of level 12 (up to cote -20m) of 313,721m3. Accompanying minerals, soil stripped of the cover layer in sand exploitation, geological reserve of level 122 is 145,478m3, exploitation capacity is 200,000 m3/year (individual).
Vam Cai Thia sand mine (My Luong commune and Hoa Khanh commune, Cai Be district, Tien Giang province) is owned by Tien Giang Construction Materials Joint Stock Company, with a total land and water surface area of 16,62625 hectares. This mine has mineral reserves permitted for exploitation design, geological reserves of level 12 (up to cote -20m) of 291,239m3, secondary minerals accompanying the soil stripped of the cover layer in sand exploitation with geological reserves of level 122 of 113,771m3, exploitation capacity of 180,000 m3/year (in monolithic).
In Ben Tre, the results of the auction of mineral exploitation rights on October 24 for 3 sand mines include: Quoi Son sand mine on Tien river (in Quoi Son commune, Chau Thanh district), An Duc - An Hoa Tay sand mine on Ham Luong river (in An Duc commune and An Hoa Tay commune, Ba Tri district) and An Hiep - An Ngai Tay sand mine on Ham Luong river (in An Hiep commune and An Ngai Tay commune, Ba Tri district), with a total amount of more than 488 billion VND.
According to Notice No. 283 of the Government Office, Tien Giang province was assigned by the Government to supply about 15.95 million m3 for projects, including: Can Tho - Ca Mau project about 2 million m3, component project 2 of Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway project about 4.55 million m3, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project about 6.6 million m3, component project 2 of Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway project about 0.95 million m3, Ho Chi Minh Road project Rach Soi - Ben Nhat and Go Quao - Vinh Thuan section about 1.85 million m3.
Ben Tre province was assigned by the Government to supply 7.37 million m3 of sand for key traffic projects in the Southern provinces, including: Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway Project about 2 million m3, component project 3 of Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project about 3.37 million m3, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project about 2 million m3.
