Repeat violations of roads and sidewalks
According to the report of Kien An District authorities, in the first 2 months of 2025, wards in Kien An District organized 124 campaigns, sanctioning 19 cases of administrative violations of sidewalk order. The authorities are highly focused on handling sidewalk steps and areas that are prone to re-encroachment such as: Lam Khe bridge underpass, Viet Duc street, Lam Ha market gate, Ben Pha market, Kien An hospital gate, Tran Thanh Ngo and Tran Nhan Tong streets. However, the results of traffic safety and order management, sidewalk order, and urban environmental sanitation are still not uniform and not sustainable.
For example, at the Kien An 5-way intersection, after being renovated and expanded, it is not suitable for reality. In this area, there is a situation where some business households illegally encroach on sidewalks and roads, causing unsafe traffic and urban aesthetics. Recently, the leaders of Kien An district have requested the authorities to promptly complete the plan to adjust the intersection and intersection; strictly manage, strengthen inspection, and strictly handle violations of sidewalk order in this area.
Kien An District also informed about the occurrence of 9 cases of land violations and 4 cases of urban construction order violations in the area. Of which, 5/9 cases of land violations have been dismantled, with direct consequences overcome.
15 days of peak period to restore sidewalk order
In the face of repeated violations of sidewalk order in the area, Kien An district launched a peak period to ensure traffic safety and order, sidewalk order, and urban environmental sanitation. The peak period from 3 to 18.3, starting at Tran Tat Van, Nguyen Luong Bang streets, Tran Thanh Ngo street, Kien An 5-way intersection area.
The representative of the People's Committee of Kien An district noted that all levels and sectors should step up propaganda to raise people's awareness of complying with the provisions of the law on land, construction order, traffic safety order, sidewalk order, and urban environmental sanitation. The authorities are determined to handle cases of intentional violations.
Previously, in 2024, Kien An district organized 716 campaigns, handling and administratively sanctioning 62 cases of violations of encroachment on sidewalks and roads with a total amount of more than 43 million VND.
