On the afternoon of October 13, information from Tan An ward, Tay Ninh province confirmed that a serious work accident had just occurred in the area, causing a man to be seriously injured and in critical condition.
The victim was Mr. Nguyen T.K (born in 1990, residing in Tan An ward, Tay Ninh province).
According to initial information, at around 10am on October 12, while Mr. K was plowing a scrap iron pillar at a construction site, he was suddenly hit by an electric shock, causing him to fall from a scaffolding about 4m high to the concrete foundation.
The electric shock and strong fall caused Mr. K to suffer multiple injuries and severe burns. Immediately afterwards, local people and relatives quickly took the victim to Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) for emergency treatment. Doctors diagnosed Mr. K with a cracked skull, a ruptured cerebral blood vessel, a brain overflow and severe electrical burns, with a very poor prognosis.
Mr. K's family is currently facing special economic difficulties. The victim's father said that the hospital required emergency surgery with a cost of about more than 100 million VND, but the family could not afford to pay. The family does not have land, all living expenses of the 7 people (3 of Mr. K's children are still young) depend on Mr. K's daily wages for work and scrap.
Faced with the tragic situation, the People's Committee of Tan An Ward confirmed the petition for Mr. K's family's difficult circumstances to add to the medical records.
Currently, Mr. K is still being actively treated at Cho Ray Hospital.
