Dak Lak - Prestigious people, typical advanced examples in Krong No commune, sent many thoughts and aspirations to the government to help people sustainably reduce poverty.

Concerns of prestigious people, advanced models

Krong No commune has a total natural area of over 281km2 with 13 hamlets, including 18 ethnic groups living together, with a population of over 10,000 people. Of which, ethnic minorities account for over 80%.

In early 2025, the whole commune will have 316 poor households and 165 near-poor households. It is expected that by the end of 2025, the number of poor and near-poor households will continue to decrease.

In recent years, with the attention of the Party, State and local authorities, the material and spiritual life of the people of Krong No commune has gradually improved.

However, besides the achieved results, a part of the people, especially ethnic minorities and poor and near-poor households, still face many difficulties in economic development and stabilizing their lives.

Mr. Y Ndu Ndu (residing in Ba Yang village) shared: As a prestigious person, a typical advanced example in the community, I always worry and think about my responsibility in mobilizing and supporting people to escape poverty sustainably. At the same time, I hope to continue to receive practical support and companionship from the People's Committee of Krong No commune".

According to Mr. Y Ndu, the reality shows that the cause of poverty and the risk of falling back into poverty of some households is not only due to lack of capital and land for production but also due to limitations in knowledge and production skills. People still have a fragile business mindset, waiting and relying on the support of the State.

To support people to escape poverty sustainably, I hope that the People's Committee of Krong No commune will continue to pay attention to organizing training courses, transferring science and technology; giving specific instructions to people on how to do business effectively, suitable for each subject and each region. Training courses should be linked to production practices, with specific illustrative models for people to understand and follow, Mr. Y Ndu added.

Sharing the same wish, Mr. Y Sam Nhor (Dak Rynh village) is a prestigious person, a good farmer, and also suggested that the People's Committee of the commune pay attention to supporting people to access preferential loans with simple procedures, the right subjects, along with instructions on using capital for the right purposes.

Capital support needs to be associated with consultation and supervision, helping people use capital effectively, avoiding the situation of borrowing capital but doing business at a loss, leading to debt and falling back into poverty.

Continuing training and coaching to improve qualifications

In 2026, the People's Committee of Krong No commune set a target of an average income per capita of 32 million VND/person/year (at current prices).

At the same time, strive to reduce the multidimensional poverty rate from 1% - 1.5% (of which poor households decrease by 1%, near-poor households decrease by 0.5%). During the year, the commune continued to recognize 13/13 cultural traditions, striving to reach 86% of households meeting cultural standards.

To realize the above goals, the People's Committee of the commune has developed a plan, focusing on effectively utilizing resources from the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas.

In particular, focusing on supporting livelihoods and essential items for people in conjunction with training programs, while spreading preferential loan policies.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huyen - Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong No commune said: "In the coming time, the locality will continue to train, foster knowledge, and improve the capacity of prestigious people in the area. Thereby, concretizing the implementation of policies for prestigious people among ethnic minorities, contributing to supporting people in difficulty to rise up in life".

According to Mr. Huyen, a prestigious person, an advanced example, will continue to closely coordinate with the People's Committee of the commune and departments, branches, and organizations in propaganda work, mobilizing people to comply with the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State.

With the close attention of local authorities, the cooperation of the entire political system and the efforts of each citizen, Krong No commune will gradually reduce poverty sustainably.
