On September 1, according to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, on many roads in Thanh Sen ward, many workers of Ha Tinh Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company are still working diligently.
They sweep, collect garbage, and collect mud and soil along the road, contributing to maintaining environmental sanitation and helping the streets become clean and beautiful.
On Nguyen Huy Oanh street, Ms. Tran Thi Ha (53 years old) is sweeping and collecting garbage. She said she has been an environmental worker for 20 years.
According to Ms. Ha, due to the nature of her work, she only has 4 Sundays off each month, so working on holidays has become familiar.
I have been used to the job for so many years, so I am not bothered on holidays. I just do my job like that. I even feel happy that I have worked silently to contribute to cleaning up the environment and beautifying the streets," Ms. Ha shared.

On Xuan Dieu street, Ms. Bui Thi Hue (52 years old) is also busy collecting garbage. She said she has worked at Ha Tinh Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company for 27 years.
Ms. Hue said that she is used to environmental sanitation work, so she does not feel self-pity or annoyed when many people have holidays while she still goes to work.
What I am most concerned about is income. In fact, the income of environmental workers like us is not as desired. Therefore, we have to spend sparingly, save to be able to cover our lives and raise our children to study. Even when we are not enough, we have to borrow temporarily to cover expenses," Ms. Hue confided.
According to Ms. Hue, she works 8 hours a day, and has 4 Sundays off each month. However, during storms, trees fall, and there is a lot of garbage, workers have to work harder and spend more time.
There are times when my working hours are over. However, people also throw garbage on the roadside, and I have to continue to collect it all to ensure environmental sanitation and clean streets," Ms. Hue shared.

Not only sweeping and collecting garbage, some workers also shovel mud and soil to gather next to Xo Viet Nghe Tinh road.
Next to the garbage truck, 3 female environmental workers are diligently shoveling each shovel of mud and soil to pour into the truck to clean up the road.
Ms. Dang Thi Mai (36 years old) said that she has only worked at Ha Tinh Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company for 3 years. However, with the specific nature of environmental sanitation work, she is used to working on days when others have holidays and Tet holidays.
Ms. Mai said that her current income is temporarily satisfactory, but life is still struggling, especially for living expenses and raising children to study.
Honestly, I, like many other workers, want to have even higher salaries and bonuses to better ensure our lives," Ms. Mai shared.
Saying goodbye to the female environmental workers, what remains is their calmness before the holidays and Tet to work.

For them, when many people take holidays and Tet holidays, work still has to continue. Working through holidays and Tet has become a familiar part of the lives of silent workers keeping the streets clean and beautiful.
