According to Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong, a special mark in the development process of Tra Vinh is the remarkable growth of the economy, clearly demonstrated through the average income per capita in 2024 reaching 94.368 million VND, 129 times higher than in 1992.
Along with that, the infrastructure of transportation, irrigation, electricity, water, schools, and hospitals have been completed and put into use, promoting positive effects for socio-economic development such as: Tra Vinh Provincial General Hospital with a scale of 900 beds; Duyen Hai Power Center, Co Chien Bridge, upgrading National Highway 53, Tra Vinh - Long Toan section...
Implementing the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", in 2024, Tra Vinh province focused on mobilizing all resources to support the construction of new and improved houses for 5,883 households, so far the province has basically eliminated temporary and dilapidated houses.
The shift in economic structure towards modernity, with the strong development of industry - construction and trade - services, has created positive changes in people's lives.
Mr. Cuong added that up to now, the whole province has 100% of communes meeting new rural standards, of which 60% of communes meet advanced new rural standards and 10.6% of communes meet model new rural standards. This is a vivid testament to the tireless efforts and consensus of the entire political system and people of Tra Vinh.
In addition, the completion of the new rural construction program with increasingly improved criteria has brought a new look to the countryside, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
