The Ho Chi Minh Road project, Cho Chu - Trung Son intersection connecting Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang, has a total investment of VND1,600 billion.
The project started in June 2024, 29km long, starting at Cho Chu (Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen) and ending at Trung Son intersection (intersecting with QL.2C, Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang).

Ho Chi Minh Road is built according to the technical standards of a grade III mountainous road, with a design speed of 60km/h, and a scale of 2 lanes. The roadbed is 9 meters wide, the section through Trung Son is 14 meters wide.
According to the reporter in Tuyen Quang, after nearly 1 year of construction, the shape of the road has gradually emerged.
Workers and machinery are mobilized to implement the project. In addition to leveling and building culverts and tunnels, contractors are simultaneously relocating electric poles and infrastructure to clear the land.
Meanwhile, at the starting point of the project in Dinh Hoa district (Thai Nguyen), workers are also digging and filling the roadbed. A large amount of rock and soil was scraped, peeled, and leveled from a high to low position.

The main road has been leveled and cleared. Workers are constructing tunnels, box culverts, and overpasses.
According to the leader of Yen Son District People's Committee, the unit has directed specialized departments and offices to strengthen coordination with localities to speed up site clearance and hand over land for construction of project items. In particular, developing a plan to implement resettlement areas.
The investment in the construction of the Ho Chi Minh road, Cho Chu - Trung Son intersection, aims to gradually complete the Ho Chi Minh road, creating momentum to connect the three provinces of Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan - Tuyen Quang.
The project aims to enhance connectivity, meet the transportation needs of the midlands and mountainous areas of the North, promote socio-economic development, and ensure national defense and security.
In Bac Kan, the project of the road from Bac Kan city to Ba Be lake and connecting to Na Hang district (Tuyen Quang) has a total investment of more than 3,700 billion VND.

The route has a total length of nearly 39 km, designed according to the standards of a grade III and IV mountainous road, an 8-meter wide road surface, and a design speed of 4060 km/h.
The section from Bac Kan City to Ba Be Lake after a long period of construction has been completed and put into use since mid-April 2025.
The two sections connecting Ba Be to Na Hang are currently undergoing site clearance, expected to be completed in 2025.
When completed, the route will not only shorten travel time from Bac Kan City to Ba Be Lake to less than 1 hour, but also open an inter-provincial connection axis between Bac Kan - Tuyen Quang, creating momentum for tourism development, economy, society and improving the lives of people in the northern mountainous areas, especially eco-tourism in Ba Be Lake.
