On the afternoon of June 3, the search for missing victims in the drowning incident in the Cat Cat stream area, Cat Cat village, Ta Van commune was still being urgently deployed.
Colonel Nguyen Xuan Tuan - Deputy Director of Lao Cai Provincial Police directly arrived at the scene to direct rescue and relief operations.
Previously, at about 11 am on the same day, after receiving a report from people about 2 people encountering an accident in the Cat Cat stream area, the Fire and Rescue Team No. 9 of the Fire and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police coordinated with militia and local people to urgently deploy search operations.

At about 1:30 pm, functional forces found the body of Ms. Dang Thi Thu H. (born in 1995, residing in Hoa Phu commune, Hanoi City). The search for the remaining victim continued to be urgently deployed.
Present at the scene, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Tuan requested units to highly concentrate forces and vehicles, carefully review each area on the stream to soon find the missing victim.
The Deputy Director of Lao Cai Provincial Police also requested the Party Committee and government of Ta Van commune to continue to coordinate with adjacent localities to mobilize forces to support the search work.
According to functional forces, the rescue process encountered many difficulties due to deep water levels, fast flow, and complex terrain with many rocky rapids and dense trees.

By 8 pm on the same day, officers and soldiers of Fire and Rescue Team No. 9, Fire and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police, Ta Van Commune Police and coordinating forces and local people were still actively searching with the determination to bring the missing victims back to their families soon.
For the victims who have been found, local authorities are coordinating with relevant units to support the family to complete funeral procedures according to regulations, and at the same time visit and encourage relatives to overcome the loss.
