On December 27, forces of Dak Lak Provincial Police are coordinating to investigate the cause of the fire at an electrical and plumbing equipment store that killed 4 people in a family, which occurred in Hoa Phu commune.
The deceased victims include Mr. H.K.D (35 years old), Ms. T.T.T.N (28 years old) and 2 sons, H.B.H (8 years old) and H.B.L (4 years old). The only surviving victim is Mr. D's youngest son, only 1 month old.
After the tragic incident occurred, Mr. Truong Cong Thai - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - visited and shared condolences with the victim's family. Mr. Thai said that this is a painful lesson about fire prevention and fighting in residential areas, especially for households who both live and do business.
In particular, Mr. Thai emphasized the necessity of arranging escape routes in the house so that when the fire breaks out, they can escape in time. People also need to raise their vigilance, because even a small incident such as a short circuit or gas leak can lead to serious consequences.
According to information from the Central Highlands Regional General Hospital, a baby boy of about 1 month old was brought to the hospital in a state of degree I, II burns in the face and neck and is being closely monitored for respiration. In addition, the hospital also received patient D.H.D (officer of the Fire and Rescue Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police) in a state of shortness of breath, siren and is being monitored due to suspected CO poisoning.
Less than 1km from the scene, Mr. Canh (Mr. D's father) took care of the funeral arrangements for his son in tears. He was still in shock, not believing that tragedy had struck his family.

According to Mr. Canh, for many years, Mr. D's family has diligently traded electrical and plumbing equipment, and life has gradually stabilized. In the early morning of the same day, receiving the news, he and his wife rushed to their son's house.
My husband and I only knew how to shout the names of our children and grandchildren in vain. Everyone tried to put out the fire but could not. In just a moment, I lost my son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren," Mr. Canh said painfully.
Due to concerns that the baby would inhale a lot of smoke, affecting his health, the family is carrying out procedures to transfer the baby to a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for intensive treatment.
As Lao Dong newspaper reported, at about 2:55 am on the same day, a fire broke out at a house located on National Highway 14 (Doan Ket village, Hoa Phu commune). Upon receiving the news, functional forces quickly arrived to put out the fire, rescue and relief.
However, because the house was selling electrical and plumbing appliances, and there were many flammable plastic materials inside, the fire spread quickly and flared up fiercely.
According to initial information, the fire killed 4 victims including: T.T.T.N (born in 1997), H.K.D (born in 1990), H.B.H (born in 2017) and H.B.L (born in 2021).
