After merging the three provinces of Ben Tre, Tra Vinh and Vinh Long into one administrative unit, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province has quickly improved the organizational apparatus, received 3,446 civil servants, public employees and workers, and stabilized operations from the department to the grassroots.
Mr. Lam Van Tan - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment - said that the agricultural sector identifies the streamlined, scientific organization of the apparatus as a prerequisite to effectively ensure the pillar role in socio-economic development and environmental protection.
Over the past 6 months, the whole industry has made efforts to maintain stable growth in agricultural production, synchronously implementing sector restructuring programs, natural disaster prevention, digital transformation and environmental protection.

According to preliminary assessments, the production value of the whole industry reached nearly VND45,000 billion, an increase of about 3% over the same period. The fields of agriculture, livestock and aquaculture continue to maintain production scale; OCOP products increase in both quantity and quality; disease prevention, forest protection, and climate change response work is carried out synchronously.
"The industry is also actively reforming administration, strengthening coordination between departments, applying technology to management to serve people and businesses better and better," Mr. Tan added.
Breakthrough at the end of the year, elevate your position
The industry focuses on implementing strategic orientations to improve production efficiency, protect resources and the environment. The focus is on restructuring agriculture towards ecology, low emissions, application of high technology and comprehensive digital transformation
In the last month of the year, the industry focused on implementing the Project of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice; proactively responding to natural disasters, managing varieties and agricultural supplies and promoting the fight against IUU fishing, aiming to remove the EC "yellow card".

Develop 4-star OCOP products or more, support the development of e-commerce platforms; speed up irrigation progress, landslide handling, tree planting, forest protection; at the same time, perfect the apparatus, improve the quality of personnel.
The industry also focuses on building a synchronous industry database, applying digital technology to operations, supporting people to access information quickly, transparently and accurately.
The solutions are all aimed at the following goals: sustainable development, flexible adaptation to climate change, increasing the income of rural people and preserving a long-term living environment.
