Present at the flood peak of Hoi An this morning - October 28, Lao Dong newspaper reporters witnessed many streets in Hoi An such as Hai Ba Trung, Ba Trieu, Tran Hung Dao... still deeply submerged in water, showing no signs of abating.

Anxiously seeing the water level rise, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (character's name has been changed, living on Ba Trieu Street) proactively raised her furniture to reduce damage.
According to Ms. Huong, the water started to rise rapidly from last night, this morning it has reached the threshold of level 3. Many households with low houses on the street cannot help but worry when the water rises as high as the furniture is.

According to many people living on Hai Ba Trung and Ba Trieu streets, many vehicles such as cars and motorbikes that could not move to a safe place yesterday were in floodwaters.
At deeply flooded points on the streets, local authorities are still on duty 24/7, supporting people to move people and belongings to safety.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting issued an emergency flood notice (expecially large flood) on rivers in Hue City and Da Nang City at 3:30 a.m. on October 28, and flood information on Tra Khuc River (Quang Ngai Province).
Accordingly, the flood on the Huong River (Hue City) has peaked and is receding, the flood peak at Kim Long station is 5.05m (20:00 on October 27), 1.55m above alert level 3.
Currently, the flood on the Vu Gia - Thu Bon River (Da Nang City) is fluctuating at its peak. Floods on the Bo River (Hue City) and Tra Khuc River (Quang Ngai) are receding.
It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the flood on Vu Gia River at Ai Nghia station will peak at above alert level of 3.12, then decrease; on Thu Bon River at Cau Lau station, it will peak at 5.3m, above alert level of 3.33, then fluctuate at a high level; Huong River at Kim Long station will gradually decrease and be above alert level of 3.6m; Bo River at Phuoc station will decrease below alert level of 0.2m. Floods on the Tra Khuc River will gradually decrease and will be below the warning level of 0.7m.

In the next 12-24 hours, floods on rivers will gradually decrease; the Bo River at Phuoc station will be below alert level 3 by 0.6m; the Huong River at Kim Long station will be below alert level 3; the Vu Gia River at Ai Nghia station will be below alert level 3 by 0.1m; the Thu Bon River at Cau Lau station will be above alert level 3 by 0.6m; the flood on Tra Khuc River at Tra Khuc station will fluctuate above alert level 1.
Warning of the risk of deep and widespread flooding in Hue City, Da Nang City, localized flooding in Quang Ngai Province; high risk of flash floods on rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes of provinces from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai.
