According to Lao Dong reporters on the night of October 27, many people in deeply flooded areas in Hoi An ancient town were trapped at night. On social networks, there are continuous posts calling for support for boats to move the elderly and children out of dangerous areas when floodwaters continue to rise.

Mr. Mai Van Phat (member of the SOS Cua Dai rescue team) - said that after receiving information about the people's calls for help, the group also prepared canoes to go to deeply flooded areas to support people to evacuate to safety.

When the group approached, there were households that were flooded almost to the 2nd floor, afraid that the flood water would continue to rise overnight, many people contacted the rescue team for help.
"We received dozens of continuous calls from people in the old quarter. In some places, the water almost reached the 2nd floor at night. When approaching, the brothers had to take a small canoe. Each rescue trip will carry 4-5 people to a safe area, prioritizing houses with the elderly and children" - Mr. Phat said.

Another member of the rescue team shared that many houses were located deep in Hoi An ancient town, making it extremely difficult to move. Although tired late at night, all the members tried their best because they knew there were many people inside who needed help.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting issued an emergency flood notice (expecially large flood) on rivers in Hue City and Da Nang City at 3:30 a.m. on October 28, and flood information on Tra Khuc River (Quang Ngai Province).
Accordingly, the flood on the Huong River (Hue City) has peaked and is receding, the flood peak at Kim Long station is 5.05m (20:00 on October 27), 1.55m above alert level 3.
Currently, the flood on the Vu Gia - Thu Bon River (Da Nang City) is fluctuating at its peak. Floods on the Bo River (Hue City) and Tra Khuc River (Quang Ngai) are receding.
It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the flood on Vu Gia River at Ai Nghia station will peak at above alert level of 3.12, then decrease; on Thu Bon River at Cau Lau station, it will peak at 5.3m, above alert level of 3.33, then fluctuate at a high level; Huong River at Kim Long station will gradually decrease and be above alert level of 3.6m; Bo River at Phuoc station will decrease below alert level of 0.2m. Floods on the Tra Khuc River will gradually decrease and will be below the warning level of 0.7m.

In the next 12-24 hours, floods on rivers will gradually decrease; the Bo River at Phuoc station will be below alert level 3 by 0.6m; the Huong River at Kim Long station will be below alert level 3; the Vu Gia River at Ai Nghia station will be below alert level 3 by 0.1m; the Thu Bon River at Cau Lau station will be above alert level 3 by 0.6m; the flood on Tra Khuc River at Tra Khuc station will fluctuate above alert level 1.
Warning of the risk of deep and widespread flooding in Hue City, Da Nang City, localized flooding in Quang Ngai Province; high risk of flash floods on rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes of provinces from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai.
