On the morning of April 14, at the first session of the 11th Da Nang City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031, delegates of the Da Nang City People's Council conducted the process of electing key positions of the City People's Council for the new term. As a result, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung - Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Council (previous term) was re-elected as Chairman of the 11th Da Nang City People's Council with a 100% approval rate of delegates present.
Previously, on July 1, 2025, after implementing the administrative boundary merger between Da Nang City and Quang Nam province, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee was newly appointed by the Central Government to hold the position of Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Council.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung was born in 1967, native of Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province. He has a professional qualification from the University of Security, and a high-level political theory level.
Previously, when holding important positions at the City People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung had many years of work and contributions in the People's Police force.
In November 2019, he was appointed by the Minister of Public Security to hold the position of Director of Quang Nam Provincial Police. In February 2020, he was promoted by the President from Colonel to Major General.
During his work, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung has held many important leadership positions such as: Deputy Director of Quang Nam Provincial Police, Head of Staff Department, Head of Foreign Security Department, Deputy Head of Nong Son District Police (former Quang Nam province), Deputy Head of Investigation Security Department...
