On the morning of September 9, according to information from Tran Phu Ward People's Committee, the Mobile Forest Protection and Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting Team in coordination with Tran Phu Ward People's Committee, Tran Phu Ward Police and Thach Mon Residential Group just inspected a bird trapping point in the De Dong Mon mangrove forest area.
Here, functional forces discovered many tools arranged to trap and lure birds. The inspection team dismantled, collected and handled on the spot 100 fake storks, about 300 m of nets, 40 bamboo stakes, 1 set of bird-luring equipment and 2 temporary camps to serve bird trapping.
All of the above tools were processed and destroyed on the spot to prevent continued use for hunting and trapping wild birds in the area.
Previously, Tran Phu ward organized a campaign to inspect, dismantle, and collect nets, traps and bird hunting tools in some dangerous areas.
According to the plan, the locality continues to review riverside areas, mangrove forests, fields, ponds, wetlands, aquaculture areas and places where wild birds and migratory birds often appear to promptly detect and handle trapping points.
Along with inspection and dismantling, Tran Phu ward promotes propaganda and mobilizes people not to hunt, catch, trap, buy, sell, transport, store, process and consume wild birds and migratory birds illegally.
The locality also encourages people to proactively provide information to the government and functional forces when detecting violations.
In Dan Hai commune, functional forces also just inspected 10 households, worked and propagated at 1 restaurant. Through this, functional forces seized and destroyed on the spot more than 200 fake birds, more than 500 plastic sticks with glue used to trap birds and released 12 live birds back to nature.
From August 26 to September 8, the inter-sectoral inspection team of Dan Hai commune inspected 15 households, seized and destroyed more than 300 fake foam birds, more than 800 plastic sticks with glue used to trap birds, and released more than 17 wild bird individuals into the natural environment.
