Quang Ninh - A milk tea shop in Mong Cai 2 ward was fined more than 144 million VND and is being verified by the Tax Department for further handling.

Previously, implementing a plan to inspect business activities on the e-commerce platform, through verification, Market Management Team No. 4 (Quang Ninh Market Management Department) found signs of violations in product quality and origin, and conducted a surprise inspection of the business establishment "Hoang Quyen Tra Milk Weight Reduction Tea" and the sales account of the same name on the Shopee e-commerce platform.

The business establishment is of Ms. N.H.Q, born in 1996, residing in Mong Cai 2 ward, Quang Ninh province.

The authorities discovered at the facility 76 boxes of weight loss milk tea "Viet Milk Tea Denmark" without invoices, documents, or labels stating "Made in Denmark". However, when looking up the lines, there was no information about the manufacturing location but only a manual for use.

The inspection team took samples and sent them for testing, the results of which determined that the above product contained Sibutramine - an active ingredient banned by the Ministry of Health for use in food due to serious effects on the cardiovascular and nervous system.

The total value of the violating shipment is estimated at nearly 40 million VND. Through verification, the business's sales revenue on the e-commerce platform was nearly 1 billion VND.

Considering that the incident had signs of crime, Market Management Team No. 4 coordinated with the People's Procuracy and Quang Ninh Provincial Police to review, classify and handle.

The Quang Ninh Market Management Department has submitted to the Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee to issue a decision to administratively sanction Ms. N.H.Q with the amount of 144,130,000 VND, and at the same time force the destruction of all violating goods, suspend Ms. N.H.Q's food business activities for 11 months and request Ms. Q to immediately stop illegal product trading, affecting human health.

The case is being transferred to the Tax authority for verification and handling according to regulations.
