Fine Ngoc Linh ginseng processing enterprise in Da Nang for discharging waste exceeding standards

    Da Nang fined 85 million VND to a business specializing in processing Ngoc Linh ginseng for violating the environment.

    On September 18, the People's Committee of Da Nang City announced that it had issued a decision to fine Triet Minh Company Limited (headquartered in Cho Lo Industrial Cluster, Chien Dan Commune, Da Nang) VND85 million for violating regulations on environmental protection.

    Previously, the authorities including the Economic Police Department, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Da Nang and the Quang Nam Environmental Monitoring Center inspected the operations of Triet Minh Company.

    The results showed that this enterprise discharged waste exceeding technical standards and did not comply with the content of the issued environmental license.

    The People's Committee of Da Nang City applied the main penalty of a fine of 85 million VND, and forced the company to fix the pollution within 30 days and pay the entire cost of inspection and analysis of environmental samples.

    If the deadline is exceeded, the company will be forced to comply and must pay additional fines according to the law.

    Triet Minh Company Limited is a company that processes products from Ngoc Linh ginseng - a rare medicinal herb that is considered the national treasure of Vietnam.
