On the afternoon of February 25, Division 968 (Military Region 4) said that the unit's Team for Searching and Repatriating Martyrs' Remains had just discovered 2 martyrs' remains in Hieu Giang commune, Quang Tri province.
According to initial information, the remains were found at point 402, belonging to Ban Chua village, Hieu Giang commune, at a depth of about 1.5m.
During the exhumation process, functional forces discovered many accompanying artifacts including 3 cylinders, 2 pairs of shoes, 12 buttons, 1 infantry shovel, Sao Vang cao, 1 B52 aluminum bowl and some other items such as information wires.
After the repatriation, 2 sets of martyrs' remains were brought by the Search and Repatriation Team of Division 968 to manage and organize worship at the Tan Hiep village hall, Hieu Giang commune according to regulations.
Currently, the unit continues to expand the search area in the high point area 402 and surrounding areas to identify more related information.
