Rare white-throated chicken discovered in Phia Oac National Park - Phia Den

Cao Bang - While setting camera traps, the Phia Oac - Phia Den National Park Management Board discovered many white-throated chickens.

On August 27, information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Cao Bang province, the camera trap system in Phia Oac - Phia Den National Park recorded the appearance of many white-legged chickens (Lophura nucthemera) in the natural forest.

This is a rare bird species, listed in the Red Book of Vietnam and belonging to group IIB according to Circular No. 27/2025/TT-BNNMT.

This discovery is of special significance, showing the richness of biodiversity in the area, and at the same time affirming the effectiveness of the patrol, forest protection and wildlife monitoring work that the National Park is implementing.

Immediately after recording the image (8.21), the National Park Management Board directed specialized units to prepare documents, increase monitoring with camera traps, and at the same time step up propaganda for people to participate in forest protection and species conservation.

In addition, the National Park will also coordinate with research agencies to continue monitoring, evaluating and proposing appropriate conservation solutions.

The discovery of this white-legged chicken not only contributes to raising public awareness of nature protection, but also affirms the important role of Phia Oac - Phia Den National Park in biodiversity conservation in Cao Bang province in particular and the whole country in general.
