On May 23, the authorities of Lang Son province simultaneously launched an inspection of a business household in Coc Nam village, Tan My commune, Van Lang district, and discovered and seized more than 1.2 tons of food with signs of violating regulations on origin.
The inspection was chaired by Market Management Team No. 7 (in charge of Van Lang - Trang Dinh area), Market Management Department of Lang Son province, in coordination with the Economic Police Department (PC03), Lang Son Provincial Police and the 389 Provincial Interdisciplinary Inspection Team.
At address No. 8 Coc Nam village, where the business household represented Mr. Tran Tien Tuan, the authorities discovered a total of 1,232 kg of various types of food without invoices and documents, including many products produced outside of Vietnam, without Vietnamese sub-labeled as prescribed.
Specifically, there are 549.5 kg of sausages, 280 kg of dried and frozen foods such as chili powder, bags, tofu with packaging with foreign characters; in addition, there are more than 400 kg of frozen foods such as organs and meat of livestock and poultry such as pig intestines, pork belly, three calves, legs, chicken wings, young chicken eggs...
The total value of the violating shipment is estimated at more than 62 million VND.
At the time of inspection, the business owner could not present any documents proving the legality of the shipment such as invoices, import documents or documents proving the origin.
Currently, all violating goods have been temporarily detained by the authorities for further investigation, clarification and handling according to the law.
