    Son La - Son La Provincial Police discovered and handled 18 individuals showing signs of illegal gold mining in Muong La commune, seizing many related exhibits.

    On January 16, the Economic Police Department of Son La Provincial Police said that they had made records of handling 18 individuals with acts of soil destruction and illegal mineral exploitation (gold) according to the provisions of law.

    Accordingly, in the Cang Phieng village area, Muong La commune, functional forces coordinated to detect 18 individuals performing activities of digging, excavating, and treating with signs of illegal gold mining.

    At the scene, the police agency seized many exhibits including water pumps, water pipes, hoes, shovels, screening and tools serving mineral exploitation.

    Currently, the case is being further investigated and verified by the Economic Police Department of Son La Provincial Police for strict handling according to the provisions of law.
