Sharing about Party foreign affairs on the sidelines of the 33rd Diplomatic Conference taking place in Hanoi from July 1 to August 8, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong said that Party foreign affairs along with State diplomacy and people's foreign affairs are three close pillars, complementing each other. In which, Party foreign affairs plays a core role in strategic orientation, consolidating the political foundation and promoting relations between Vietnam and countries and partners.
Resolution of the 14th Party Congress sets out the requirement to further promote the overall strength of Vietnam's foreign affairs. According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong, Party foreign affairs need to be more proactive in transforming good political relations into practical cooperation results; continue to be an important channel for our Party to exchange theories, share experiences on Party building, national governance, cadre training, thereby selectively absorbing international knowledge and experience, serving the completion of the Party's guidelines, improving leadership capacity, ruling power and combat strength.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong said that the relationship between our Party and political parties in neighboring countries, socialist countries and traditional friends continues to be strengthened, contributing to strengthening trust and orienting bilateral relations to develop stably and long-term. High-level mechanisms with Laos, Cambodia, China and the three-party mechanism Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia continue to promote the role of orientation, with common perceptions concretized immediately afterwards by the Prime Minister-level and Minister-level mechanisms.
On the multilateral channel, our Party actively participates in regional and international political forums.
In particular, according to Vietnam's initiative, the Southeast Asian Political Parties Roundtable will be held for the first time in Hanoi in June 2026. Cooperation between Party committees at all levels sharing a border with neighboring countries will also continue to be maintained.
Along with that, Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong pointed out the focuses that Party foreign affairs work will focus on in the future. Accordingly, closely following the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, Resolution 06 and Conclusion 49 of the Politburo, Party foreign affairs work in the coming time needs to continue to strongly innovate both in thinking, content and methods of implementation, towards practical results, making more direct contributions to the goals of building and developing the country.
First of all, continue to consolidate and deepen relations with political parties in neighboring countries, socialist countries and traditional friends; expand with focus and key points relations with ruling parties and corrupt parties; promote the role of political orientation and create a solid foundation for relations between Vietnam and other countries.
Second, innovate the content of cooperation on the Party channel, closely linked to the strategic goals of the country; besides exchanging theoretical and national governance experiences, promote the role of political relations in promoting cooperation in science and technology, digital transformation, green transformation and human resource training.
Third, enhance the role of our Party in multilateral party forums; continue to promote the Southeast Asian Political Party Roundtable initiative, contributing to the process of building the ASEAN Community; prepare carefully for hosting the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in 2028.
In particular, it is necessary to create clear changes in organization and implementation, soon turn common perceptions and agreements into substantive results; promote the role of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad in connecting our Party with political parties in the area.
The 33rd Diplomatic Conference aims to unify awareness, action, and bring new policies into practice.
