On July 7, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27,47 - July 27, 2025), comrade Nguyen Chi Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs in Quang Tri province.
At the special National Historical Site of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, in a sacred moment, the delegation observed a minute of silence to commemorate the great contributions of the martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives during the 81 "red fire" days and nights from June 28 to September 16, 2022.
During the 81 days and nights, the ancient citadel was only less than 3km2 wide but suffered a bomb equivalent to 7 nuclear bombs. With the strong will and aspiration for independence and unity, our army and people have created an immortal monument deeply engraved in the history of the nation.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and the working delegation laid wreaths and offered incense at the National Martyrs' Cemetery, Road 9 - the resting place of more than 10,000 martyrs and the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery - which gathered more than 10,000 martyrs from all over the country.
In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, the delegation respectfully bowed down, taking a moment of silence to commemorate those who donated their youth and blood and bones for the independence and freedom of the nation and the happiness of the people.
