On October 20, the leader of Phu Quoc Special Zone (An Giang) said that the People's Committee of the Special Zone had issued a notice to advise people and businesses to be vigilant against the act of taking advantage of complaints and lawsuits to commit fraud.
According to the People's Committee of the special zone, recently, in Phu Quoc and many other places, there have appeared a number of subjects who have taken advantage of the right to complain, denounce, and file lawsuits according to the provisions of law to commit fraud and property appropriation.
These subjects often impersonate lawyers, law enforcement officers, people with the right to resolve cases, or incite and entice people to participate in complaints and untrue lawsuits for profit.
Popular tricks include: Enticing people to participate in class actions and lawsuits for rights without a clear legal basis. Promised to quickly resolve the case, reclaim the land, and receive compensation if people pay legal fees, apply, or complete procedures. Forge legal documents, impersonate lawyers, or organize free consultation to collect personal information and appropriate money.
In the face of the above situation, the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone recommends that people and businesses be cautious when interacting with strangers who claim to be petitioners, lawyers, or have relationships to resolve complaints.
Do not sign documents or collective petitions if you do not clearly understand the content and legality.
Do not transfer money, provide personal information, identification documents, Land Use Rights Certificates... to anyone without clearly verifying their identity and legal functions.
When there are requirements for complaints and lawsuits, people should contact the local government directly (through the Office of the People's Council and People's Committee of the special zone), the judicial agency, or a lawyer with a practice certificate.
Refer to legal information from official sources such as the Government's electronic information portal, the Ministry of Justice, or competent authorities.
All fraudulent acts will be strictly handled according to the law. People and businesses need to raise vigilance, protect their legitimate rights and interests, and coordinate with authorities to report violators.
When people and businesses discover such subjects and fraud activities, they should quickly inform the special forces police force or local working groups of the special forces People's Committee for clarification and handling.
