In recent days, the Organizing Committee and the event organizer have been urgently preparing the tasks for the first hundred-year-old Phu Quoc fish sauce festival in 2025 with the theme "The soul of the Pearl Island" to take place safely and successfully.
The atmosphere on Phu Quoc pearl island (Kien Giang) is very bustling with flags, flowers, and billboards on the routes to inform about the fish sauce festival event. In addition, in the area where the Festival takes place, the work of designing, installing roofs, decorating fish sauce stalls, food stalls, advertising and propaganda signs, and banners on main roads and densely populated areas has also been actively implemented throughout the past week.
According to the Organizing Committee, the installation of a stage for traditional night-time art performances at Bach Dang Park has also been prepared quite extensively. With a plan to arrange the overall premises, the stalls are zoning, ensuring compliance with synchronous standards, making it convenient for tourists to easily visit and shop.
The event organizer also said that the booths where the festival activities take place have been completed and handed over to the people for decoration to start operating.
A series of events of Phu Quoc fish sauce festival with many outstanding activities such as: Opening ceremony with art performances imbued with the identity of the sea and islands and honoring the traditional fish sauce making craft of Phu Quoc; Workshop on 10 years of managing and using the geographical indication "Phu Quoc"; exhibition of Phu Quoc fish sauce and specialties, OCOP products of Phu Quoc; tourism promotion; Cultural experience space for the culinary competition with diverse dishes made from Phu Quoc fish sauce; folk games, combined with cultural tourism exchanges, creating a space to connect the community and promote heritage.
Mr. Pham Huynh Quoc Thanh, Director of Kim Hoa fish sauce Company Limited - Permanent Vice President of Phu Quoc Fish Sauce Association shared: "All 20 businesses share a common booth in a common house so that we can give consumers the message that we will build a common fish sauce product for the Phu Quoc market. Through this Festival, we connect so that Phu Quoc fish sauce goes further so that consumers know more and know about a product that has been in the hearts of people from ancient times to the present, a product imbued with national identity, the national soul of Vietnam.
The decoration and preparation of facilities for the Festival has been basically completed, the Organizing Committee has prepared a traffic diversion plan to ensure safety and convenience for visitors to visit and shop.
Phu Quoc fish sauce festival is also an important milestone in the journey to preserve and promote the value of national intangible cultural heritage. The event contributed to affirming the position of Phu Quoc fish sauce, a pioneering brand granted a certificate of geographical protection by the EU. At the same time, it is oriented to develop Phu Quoc fish sauce into a national brand, aiming to export and promote in the international market.
