According to the leader, the inter-sectoral inspection team of tourism and sports of the locality had a surprise inspection of the business establishment of Tran Phu Quoc Co., Ltd., the business location of Your House Phu Quoc 2 according to tourists' feedback.
In the afternoon of January 2nd, the inspection team conducted a surprise inspection of the law compliance of organizations and individuals in tourism service business, tour guides, and tourist transportation for the accommodation facility of Tran Phu Quoc Co., Ltd., Your House Phu Quoc 2 business location.
According to the reflection of tourists (Mr. Pierre, 65 years old, Canadian nationality) and 2 French guests who booked rooms on the app, but did not receive a room when they arrived at Your House 2 guesthouse. The inspection team requested the establishment to provide information about the above reflected incident.
At the time of inspection, there was no representative of Tran Phu Quoc Co., Ltd., Mr. Tran Duc Sy representing the inspection team.
Mr. Sy said that on December 31, 2025, 3 foreign guests came to Your House Phu Quoc 2 to receive rooms. These 3 guests had booked rooms on the Agoda app, and the establishment did not have time to check in on the OTA system, so the app displayed the received room. However, when guests arrived, the establishment had run out of rooms, so they could not arrange rooms for guests as booked.
The establishment proposed to move to a new place and rent rooms for the 3 guests above, reducing half the room rate for 2 French tourists and was accepted, Mr. Pierre was arranged to stay for free and proposed to cancel the room at Agoda to be refunded and he agreed. However, Mr. Pierre was not comfortable.
On the morning of January 1, 2026, the facility took Mr. Pierre to visit another facility, which has more beautiful scenery and higher quality, but Mr. Pierre refused and left. On the night of January 1, 2026, Mr. Sy proactively texted to apologize to Mr. Pierre via his personal phone number and on the Agoda app for the facility's mistakes and Mr. Pierre's bad experiences.
On the side of the inspection team, representatives said that at the time of inspection, the establishment was doing business in accommodation services with 2 rooms, 3 odd beds, currently no guests. No certificate of eligibility for security and order. Not publicizing the guesthouse regulations; Not listing prices and selling prices at the reception desk; Not declaring accommodation.
The inspection team reminded the establishment to implement the posting of operating regulations of the establishment, posting service prices at the reception counter. When receiving guests on booking platforms, the establishment needs to assign rooms and respond to customers in accordance with regulations, to avoid leaving guests at the establishment without receiving a room.
Because the establishment has not presented a Certificate of eligibility for security and order, the inspection team requested the establishment to stop operating accommodation from 5:00 PM on January 2, 2026 until the Certificate of eligibility for security and order is presented. At the same time, invited the legal representative of Tran Phu Quoc Co., Ltd., Ms. Tran Thi Kim Chi, to the Department of Culture and Society to work.
The case is still being handled by the local authorities.
