Dai Lai Lake is an artificial lake located in Ngoc Thanh and Cao Minh communes of Phu Tho province (in Ngoc Thanh commune and Dong Xuan ward, Phuc Yen city, old Vinh Phuc province).
Dai Lai Lake was started in 1959 with the purpose of collecting irrigation water for agriculture, and was basically completed in 1963 . The lake is up to 5.25km2 wide and the surrounding mountainous areas and forests have a total area of about 30km2. In the middle of the lake, there is a 3ha bird island.
With a total capacity of 34.5 million m2 at the spillway level of 23m, the lake provides water for agricultural production for more than 2,000 hectares of cultivated land in Binh Xuyen commune, Phuc Yen ward (Phu Tho province) and Me Linh commune, Soc Son (Hanoi); the lake has the function of preventing and releasing floodwaters for the entire area.
