Hoài Luân |

In order to improve environmental quality, Phu Yen has planned to implement environmental protection activities and projects by 2025.

On December 15, the People's Committee of Phu Yen province announced that it had issued the Environmental Protection Plan 2025 and the State Finance - Budget for the 3 years 2025-2027, with a total estimated implementation cost of more than 163 billion VND.

The goal is to create a strong change in awareness and action of all levels, sectors, organizations, businesses and communities in environmental protection.

Solving pollution in residential areas and areas with domestic solid waste, aquaculture; pollution caused by waste from industrial parks, industrial clusters, craft villages, hospitals...

At the same time, strictly manage and control waste sources; prevent environmental incidents... Expand waste classification and reduction activities in the province.

According to the People's Committee of Phu Yen province, the implementation of environmental monitoring work in the whole province in 2023 is 255 locations (an increase of 4 locations compared to 2022), with a frequency of 3 times/year; the total number of monitoring points in 2024 is 258 locations with a frequency of 3 times/year, an increase of 3 locations compared to 2023.

Monitoring results show that the environmental quality in the province over the years is at a good level, the environmental quality parameters of soil, water and air are within the permissible limits and some points have improved compared to previous years.

However, there is still local pollution occurring in some places such as industrial parks, clusters, mineral exploitation areas, and livestock facilities interspersed in residential areas.

The first monitoring results in 2024 show that the surface water quality at Ba River, Ky Lo River and Ban Thach River, most of the surface water is organically polluted; the quality of underground water sources is polluted; the quality of coastal seawater environment has 2/10 parameters polluted (NH4, Coliform)...

In recent years, Phu Yen province's functional sectors have regularly, periodically or suddenly conducted inspections and checks on environmental protection and environmental pollution control.

However, there are still some production facilities that do not comply with environmental laws properly or fully. These cases have been handled and resolved.

In 2023, Phu Yen High-Tech Dairy Farm Company Limited was discovered and fined VND 560 million for violating environmental protection laws.

In 2024, 3 establishments were discovered and handled with a fine of 3.98 billion VND, including: Song Hinh Tapioca Starch Factory of Phu Yen Tapioca Starch Joint Stock Company was fined 3.39 billion VND; The project of breeding sow farm in Thanh An village (Son Thanh Dong commune, Tay Hoa district) of Son An Investment Company Limited was fined 320 million VND; The facility for purchasing and processing scrap plastic belonging to Hoa Thanh General Agricultural Service Cooperative (Tay Hoa district) was fined 270 million VND.

To prevent and control environmental pollution, in the coming years, Phu Yen will continue to implement a periodic environmental monitoring program; strengthen inspection, examination and supervision of the implementation of environmental protection laws; and closely monitor facilities with large sources of emissions.

Regularly launch volunteer campaigns to call on the community to actively participate in environmental sanitation activities, contributing to eliminating areas of environmental pollution...
