In the announcement issued on December 4, the CT1 Thach Ban Building Management Board - Services and Solutions Providing Joint Stock Company (SASP) said that from December 20, CT1 Thach Ban Building will temporarily stop receiving and storing additional types of electric vehicles.
Electric motorbikes and electric bicycles that were registered on the first floor of the building are still being kept.
"If residents have a need to park a new vehicle, please register in the waiting book, the building management board will base on the registration order and receipt ability to notify again. The operating unit also recommends that residents proactively find alternative options during the suspension period," the announcement page reads.
Regarding the reason, the representative of CT1 Thach Ban Management Board said that the electric vehicle's capacity was overloaded, exceeding the design allowance, causing difficulties in arranging the vehicle. In fact, according to the subdivision, the number of electric vehicle parking spaces on the first floor is only about 25 but now it has increased to 60 vehicles.
The operation management board recognizes the potential risk of fire prevention and fighting safety during parking and charging electric vehicles. At the same time, the building does not have a separate planning area to ensure safety standards and techniques for parking and charging electric vehicles, as well as a lack of specialized fire fighting equipment for electric bicycles and electric motorbikes using Lithium-ion batteries.
Currently, the building has reported to the management board and fire prevention and fighting police about the above situation to study and guide the planning of areas for separate electric vehicle charging and charging, meeting safety standards in the coming time.
Regarding the incident, speaking with Lao Dong on December 4, Mr. Hoang Hai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Bien Ward (Hanoi) said that the local government has not received any feedback from residents of CT1 Thach Ban apartment building regarding the above content.
According to Mr. Hai, if people report to the ward, the ward will direct the authorities to come down to inspect to determine whether the apartment building temporarily stopped receiving and depositing additional types of electric vehicles is right or wrong, thereby having a direction for handling.
"If the investor does not allow residents to park electric vehicles in the apartment building, there must be a plan to arrange other areas and locations for people to park electric vehicles. Ensuring fire safety is a top priority, but ensuring the rights of the people must also be a priority" - Chairman of Long Bien Ward People's Committee said.
Previously, on December 2, residents at HH Linh Dam apartment complex reported that the Linh Dam Housing Service Branch announced a temporary suspension of receiving new electric motorbikes and electric bicycles from December 1, 2025 and completely stopped receiving electric vehicle parking from February 1, 2026 in the basement of buildings.
By December 4, the People's Committee of Hoang Liet Ward issued a notice requesting investors, private enterprises No. 1 of Dien Bien Province and Linh Dam Housing Service Branch (the unit representing the investor to manage and operate the apartment building) not to refuse to keep electric vehicles according to the provisions of Clause 1 and Point a, Clause 2, Article 144 of the 2023 Housing Law (except in cases where there is an official request from the competent authority).
Hoang Liet Ward also requested the investor to develop a solution to arrange a place to store electric vehicles of residents according to the roadmap in Resolution No. 57/2025/NQ-HDND dated November 26, 2025 of the City People's Council.
