Sidewalks are encroached upon, people are worried when tourists pass by
Recorded on Nui Thanh street, one of the vital traffic axes of Hoa Cuong ward, the atmosphere of sidewalk clearing is taking place urgently immediately after the local government launched the campaign.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Khue (resident of Nui Thanh street) said: "Previously, the situation of occupying common space to display shops and vehicles was quite common, causing urban unsightliness. Therefore, clearing encroached sidewalks is completely correct, not only creating favorable conditions for pedestrians to move but also helping the city's appearance become more spacious and civilized.
Mr. Khue shared that his family has children and grandchildren currently doing business on this street, so he always reminds them to be exemplary in complying with the city's regulations on order.

The change in urban appearance is not only the desire of the government but also the concern of people living here for many years. Mr. Tran Van Que, another resident living on Nui Thanh street, shared about the psychology of hesitation every time he witnesses international tourists having to struggle to move through messy sidewalk sections.
Mr. Que said: "We really want sidewalk order to be maintained for a long time, not just stopping at campaign launches. Currently, many families have proactively moved business items and ornamental plants into their houses to restore clear walkways. When people are united and the government is determined, I believe that the situation of sidewalk encroachment will soon be stopped.

No-Zone campaign
According to Hoa Cuong Ward People's Committee, since the establishment of the new ward on July 1, 2025, on the basis of the merger, the work of restoring urban order has been given special attention.
Mr. Truong Thanh Dung, Chairman of Hoa Cuong Ward People's Committee, said: "Right from August 2025, the ward has a plan to launch a campaign to restore urban order. In fact, people have grasped the policy and we have also propagated through many phases, but some households still intentionally re-offend. Therefore, in the coming time, when launching a peak month from now until April 30, we need to have more drastic campaigns.
To prevent the campaign from falling into the situation of "kidnapping and abandoning", Hoa Cuong ward has thoroughly grasped the "5 clear" action motto: clear people, clear tasks, clear responsibilities, clear time and clear results.

Chairman of Hoa Cuong Ward People's Committee affirmed: "We have worked with all residential groups, issued notices directly to each household and requested a commitment to definitively resolve violations within 5 days. After this deadline, if households continue to encroach, functional forces will be forced to enforce and handle strictly without any exceptions.
