On December 31, the Border Guard Command of Quang Binh province announced that it had just broken up an inter-provincial drug trafficking and transportation ring.
Previously, at 10:30 a.m. on December 29, at Nam Duc village (Duc Trach commune, Bo Trach district), the Drug and Crime Prevention Department, Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard presided over and coordinated with Ly Hoa Border Guard Station and Duc Trach Commune Police to arrest subject N.T.H (born in 1983, temporarily residing in Duc Trach commune, Bo Trach district) for illegally possessing 230 synthetic drug pills.
Expanding the investigation, the provincial Border Guard force has clarified the drug trafficking and illegal transportation route from Quang Tri to the coastal border area of Quang Binh province for consumption.
The authorities arrested two more suspects: H.D.C (born in 1983, residing in Bo Trach district) and V.M.P (born in 1985, residing in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province); an emergency search of V.M.P's residence seized 20 more synthetic drug pills.
Currently, the Border Guard force is coordinating with functional forces to investigate and clarify the case for handling according to the provisions of law.
