Quang Ngai: Four people went fishing, two died

The body of a fisherman who died in a shipwreck in Pho Thanh ward, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province on November 23 has just been found.

On November 25, the leader of Pho Thanh ward, Duc Pho town, said that rescue forces had found the body of fisherman Vo Thai Thach (born in 1997), who went missing after his fishing boat was sunk by waves on November 23.

The victim's body was handed over to his family for funeral arrangements. Local authorities and organizations also came to encourage, visit and support the families of the fishermen who were in the accident.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 4am on November 23, fishing boat QNg-44586-TS of Mr. Ta Ngoc Dung (born in 1968), in Pho Thanh Ward, departed from Sa Huynh Border Control Station to fish for single trawling. On board were 4 workers including Mr. Dung (ship owner and captain) and 3 crew members: Ta Ngoc Tuan, Le Thanh Thang and Vo Thai Thach. At 8am the same day, while operating in the waters of Long Thanh 2 residential group, Pho Thanh Ward, about 500m from shore, the fishing boat was sunk by waves.

Local people discovered, swam out to rescue, and helped 3 fishermen, Ta Ngoc Dung, Ta Ngoc Tuan and Le Thanh Thang, to shore. Upon receiving the news, the ward authorities mobilized rescue forces to the scene and took the fishermen to the Pho Thanh Ward Medical Station for emergency treatment. However, fisherman Le Thanh Thang (born 2001) died. Fisherman Vo Thai Thach (born 1997) was swept away by the waves.
