On October 6, a representative of the Quang Ngai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the investor of the Tra Khuc 1 bridge project, said that the terrain survey and geological drilling work at the Tra Khuc 1 bridge project has been completed. The hydrological model running work is underway, expected to be completed in October.
Currently, the step of designing construction drawings and project estimates is being consulted on the design for each item. In particular, it is focusing on items such as: Roadbed, road surface and technical infrastructure system, approach roads at both ends of the bridge, traffic safety system, lighting.
The process of completing the dossier closely followed the opinions of relevant units. After completion, the quality assurance consultant will be provided, as a basis for the investor to synthesize and submit to the Quang Ngai Department of Construction for appraisal in November 2025.
The new Tra Khuc 1 bridge project is about 830m long, with a bridge surface width of 28m; the two ends of the bridge are designed with intersections, underpasses and other auxiliary items. The project will be implemented in the period of 2024 - 2027. This is the project chosen by the province to start construction to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party.
In 2023, Quang Ngai organized a competition for architectural and design plans for Tra Khuc 1 bridge. Accordingly, the bridge is designed with 3 consecutive circles, creating the image of a water car bank in the middle of Tra Khuc river - symbolic, associated with the history of formation and development of Quang Ngai.
The project is invested with the goal of completing the transportation network, improving transportation capacity and connecting the northern gateway to the center of Quang Ngai. At the same time, expand and develop urban space on both sides of the river, create landscape architectural highlights, and build symbols for the urban center of Quang Ngai.
Currently, Quang Ngai has 7 bridges across Tra Khuc River, including: Co Luy, Tra Khuc 2, Tra Khuc 1, Thach Bich, Truong Xuan railway bridge, Tra Khuc bridge on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway and Phuoc Loc bridge.
