On December 10, Mr. Do Tam Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - said that, implementing the Prime Minister's direction on implementing the "Quang Trung Campaign", Quang Ngai province has specifically determined the time and progress for completing the construction and repair of houses for people in flooded areas.
For the 58 houses that need to be rebuilt, 29 have been completed; 4 have started construction but have not been completed; 8 are under construction and 17 have not started construction.
For 524 damaged houses that need repair, 475 houses have been completed to date; 40 houses are under repair and 9 houses have not been repaired.
Mr. Do Tam Hien said that in the coming time, Quang Ngai will continue to direct and urge local authorities and departments and branches to mobilize and focus resources to complete new construction and repair remaining cases damaged by natural disasters, helping people have stable housing during the upcoming Tet holiday.
Regarding the work of repairing houses for people affected by floods, recently, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee Ho Van Nien and leaders of departments and branches of the province visited Tay Tra commune to present support to overcome the damage; attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of houses for poor households whose houses collapsed due to the recent storm.
There are 20 households affected by floods in Tay Tra commune that are supported: 6 households whose houses have completely collapsed are supported with 60 million VND/household; 9 households with houses damaged by 50 - 70% are supported with 30 million VND/household; 5 households with houses damaged by 30 - 50% are supported with 15 million VND/household.
Along with the donation, Provincial Party Secretary Ho Van Nien also attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the house construction for Ms. Ho Thi Huong's family in Tra Nga village, whose house was completely collapsed during the recent storm.
The Provincial Party Secretary requested local authorities to mobilize maximum resources to support the construction of new houses and repair of houses damaged by storms and floods, helping people stabilize their lives soon.
Specifically, the support for repairing damaged houses must be completed before December 31, 2025; newly built houses must be completed before January 31, 2026 so that people can celebrate Tet in time.
