It takes about 4 hours to travel from the old Kon Tum city to the center of Quang Ngai, a distance of 160 km. After the merger, from July 1, 1, 1,163 cadres, civil servants and public employees from Kon Tum were transferred to work in the new Quang Ngai province.
To arrange accommodation for officials, Quang Ngai province has selected 4 locations to arrange public housing for officials from Kon Tum to Quang Ngai to work, including: Provincial Party Committee Guest House A3, T50 Guest House, Political School dormitory and Le Khiet High School Boarding dormitory. Currently, construction units are making every effort to complete the official housing units.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong - Deputy Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Quang Ngai province - said that the Management Board is responsible for repairing 15 rooms at the Le Khiet High School Boarding House and 45 rooms at the Provincial Political School Boarding House. The Provincial Political School dormitory alone has a newly built row of rooms and a repaired block of rooms. For the newly built room, it is currently in the process of completing and installing equipment.
For the Le Khiet High School Boarding School, it is expected to be completed by July 30, meeting the accommodation needs of staff from Kon Tum.
To support cadres from Kon Tum to Quang Ngai to work, the People's Council of Kon Tum province (old) issued a resolution on supporting cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of Kon Tum province to work at the new political - administrative center in Quang Ngai province.
Accordingly, it is agreed to provide one-time support to cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers receiving salaries from the state budget, at the rate of 25 million VND/person. The funding source for implementation is taken from the budget of the old Kon Tum province.
For those working under labor contracts and receiving salaries from revenue and other legal funding sources of the unit, the maximum one-time support level is not more than 25 million VND/person.
Officials of the old Kon Tum province, when coming to work at the administrative center of Quang Ngai province, will be supported with a house rental fee of 2 million VND/person/month. This policy will be applied in the first 2 years. After that, Quang Ngai province will base on the actual situation and related regulations to consider making appropriate adjustments.
