Dense landslides on Provincial Road 622B
According to statistics, in the period from October to December 2025, 29 hill and mountain landslide points and 16 riverbank and coastal landslide points occurred in Quang Ngai province, posing a potential risk to the safety of life, housing, production land of people as well as state infrastructure works.
In addition, the whole province recorded about 450 landslide locations along national highways, provincial roads and roads managed by the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province, with an estimated volume of landslide soil and rock of about 385,000 m3.

Recorded on Provincial Road 622B, the section from Tra Bong commune to Tay Tra Bong and Tay Tra communes, rain and floods have caused landslides in many locations with different scales and levels. Notably, the area from Eo Chim pass to Tay Tra commune has many points of taluy landslides, soil and rocks overflowing and burying the road surface, causing disruption and serious obstruction to traffic flow.
Currently, functional forces have just deployed temporary remediation and opening to traffic initially. However, there are still many sections of road surface covered with soil and rocks on the route, posing a potential risk of unsafety for people and vehicles.
Regularly traveling on Provincial Road 622B, Mr. Ho Van Tinh (Tay Tra commune) said that prolonged landslides make people's travel very difficult.
“Thanks to the functional forces temporarily cleaning up, traffic has become more convenient, but before that many sections of road were heavily buried, making it extremely difficult for people to travel.We hope to invest in reinforcing soon to travel safely and stably for a long time,” Mr. Tinh shared.
Completing remediation before Tet
Mr. Truong Cong Lam - Chairman of Tay Tra Commune People's Committee said that floods have caused landslides at 38 locations on roads managed by the commune, many sections are heavily damaged, greatly affecting people's travel and traffic flow.
From the budget of more than 5 billion VND supported by Quang Ngai province to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, the locality is focusing on handling landslide points, urgently ensuring smooth traffic.
For Provincial Road 622B, the Department of Construction is mobilizing vehicles and machinery to organize remediation. Large landslide locations that need long-term reinforcement have been coordinated and deployed, striving to be completed soon, serving the safety travel needs of people during the upcoming Lunar New Year.

In Tay Tra Bong commune, floods at the end of 2025 caused estimated damage of nearly 43 billion VND, of which traffic infrastructure was heavily affected with 67 landslide points. The locality has mobilized resources and focused on handling to soon stabilize people's lives and travel.
Mr. Bui Thanh Dung - Chairman of Tay Tra Bong Commune People's Committee said that the landslide points under the commune's management have basically been overcome. However, some large-scale points, beyond authority, have not been completely handled and have been proposed to relevant departments and branches to get involved soon.
To accelerate the progress of overcoming, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province has issued a Directive requesting departments, branches, and localities to review and fully statistically record landslide points; prioritize overcoming traffic infrastructure at key axes, mountainous areas, remote and isolated areas.
Mr. Do Tam Hien - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee said that the province determines that basic repairs of damage caused by natural disasters must be completed before the Lunar New Year. Roads under the management of departments, branches and localities are required to urgently repair, striving to be completed about 15 days before Tet, best serving the travel needs of the people.
