On September 10, 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Quang Ninh province issued a letter calling on agencies, units, businesses, organizations and people nationwide to support overcoming the damage caused by storm No. 3 (storm Yagi).
Pursuant to Decree No. 93/2021/ND-CP dated October 27, 2021 of the Government on mobilizing, receiving, distributing and using voluntary contributions to support overcoming difficulties caused by natural disasters, epidemics, incidents; supporting patients with serious illnesses, on November 25, 2024, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee announced the end of the campaign to mobilize and receive support for people in Quang Ninh province affected by storm No. 3 after 24 hours on December 8, 2024.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee - Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee publicly announced the results of the mobilization, receipt and distribution of funds to support the people of Quang Ninh province to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3.
As a result of the campaign, 72 organizations and individuals donated over 155,264 billion VND, of which the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People's Committee and Government were the two largest donors, each donating 7 billion VND.
In addition, many other organizations and individuals have supported in kind, including essential necessities, worth over VND8 billion. Of which, CALOFIC LLC and member companies of WILMAR CLV Group contributed goods worth VND5 billion, making it the largest in-kind sponsor.
To date, over 144 billion VND and all material items have been distributed to localities affected by storm No. 3. Emergency support of over 10 billion VND has been provided to 10,300 households in 13 severely affected localities.
Support with addresses requested by sponsors is more than 2 billion VND. Support of 38 billion VND for households and individuals engaged in forestry production that suffered damage of 30% or more, to clean up forests and prevent forest fires. Support of more than 92 billion VND for households and individuals engaged in aquaculture in damaged localities.
Transparent and targeted distribution will contribute significantly to stabilizing people's lives and restoring production after natural disasters.
