People want to receive proper vocational training
Quang Phu commune is one of the remote areas of Lam Dong province. There are many villages and hamlets with a large number of ethnic minorities living here, making transportation difficult. In recent years, thanks to the support policies of the Party and State and the efforts of local governments, sustainable poverty reduction has achieved many positive results.
However, in many remote villages and hamlets, people still maintain traditional farming methods, rarely participate in vocational training classes in cultivation and have not fully applied science and technology in production.

Mr. Ly Van Yen (residing in Quang Phu commune) shared: "My family is in a particularly disadvantaged ethnic minority area. Nearly a year ago, we escaped poverty by focusing on investing in coffee. With 5 sao of land, I take care of and fertilize it regularly so the plants grow well. In the past two years, my family has earned about 100 million VND".
According to Mr. Yen, if he can participate in training courses on plant care, variety selection and application of advanced techniques, production efficiency will certainly be even higher. Through research, I learned that if coffee trees are properly cared for, the output can increase by half to double. Thus, my family will have more income to renovate the house and take care of our children's education" - Mr. Yen said.

Mr. Dang Van Nguyen - Head of Phu Thinh village said: "Our village is in a particularly difficult situation, with many poor and near-poor households. People also try to do business, but mainly in the traditional way, so the output is not high and the profit is low".
Mr. Nguyen believes that being trained in farming skills, selecting varieties and fertilizing with the right techniques will help people apply and get rich right on their own land. "The first person guides the second person to create a very good influence. Therefore, we really hope that the government will open classes on training and coaching on cultivation to help people master the technical knowledge warehouse" - Mr. Nguyen added.
Helping people get rich in their homeland
According to statistics, the whole Quang Phu commune currently has more than 8,200 hectares of long-term industrial crops. Of which, there are 6,157 hectares of coffee and 832 hectares of pepper... This shows that the locality has great potential to develop long-term crops with high value to increase people's income.

Mr. Y Cam, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Quang Phu commune, said: "In the coming time, the commune will continue to mobilize and make the most of resources from the National Target Program to organize vocational training classes and training on cultivation - animal husbandry techniques. The locality will replicate new production models, apply science and technology to increase income and help people escape poverty sustainably".
According to Mr. Y Cam, vocational training classes will equip people with "necessary equipment" to develop the household economy.
"The government can only give fishing rods, but changing thinking, quitting backward customs and proactively rising up is the responsibility of each citizen. The locality will always accompany and support people to stand firm on their feet. Thereby, minimizing the re-poor situation in ethnic minority areas" - Mr. Y Cam emphasized.
