On September 18, Mr. Ha Sy Dong - Permanent Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies inspected the response to the tropical depression that is likely to strengthen into storm No. 4.
With the forecast that the tropical depression is likely to strengthen into a storm, which can directly affect the sea and mainland, causing strong gusts of wind and heavy rain in Quang Tri province, the province has proactively deployed response solutions. In particular, focusing on monitoring and updating the natural disaster situation; monitoring, inventorying, managing vessels and reviewing forces and means, ready to deploy rescue when there is a situation.
The total number of boats in the province with 2,270/5,971 crew members, have safely anchored at the ports. Boats from other provinces are anchored in the province with 72/513 crew members.
Through the fishing vessel monitoring system, the Fisheries Branch promptly informed the captains of fishing vessels operating at sea about the information and direction of the tropical depression so that they could promptly have a safe shelter plan for fishing vessels and workers on board.
During the inspection trip, Mr. Ha Sy Dong requested coastal localities to coordinate with the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Quang Tri Maritime Port Authority to continue guiding, counting, and managing ships, boats, and vehicles still operating at sea and along the coast to proactively escape from dangerous areas or return to safe shelters.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested localities to fully, seriously and effectively implement the telegrams of the Central Government and the province. In particular, people's lives must be given top priority; people must be evacuated from dangerous areas. In particular, construction of coastal projects must be temporarily suspended to ensure safety for people and property.
It is known that on the morning of September 18, there was heavy rain in Quang Tri province. Currently, in some mountainous areas of Dakrong district, river and stream water has risen, causing flooding of some bridges.
