The People's Committee of Ha Tinh province requested Working Group 720 (Department of Finance is the standing agency) to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction, the Provincial Economic Zone Investment Project Management Board, the People's Committee of Song Tri Ward and relevant agencies to receive and seriously implement the direction of the Provincial People's Committee leaders on handling the existing problems and difficulties in the Compensation, Support and Resettlement Project of the Son Duong Steel and Port Complex project;
Review the overall, clarify the existing contents and problems of the Project; causes and responsibilities of related organizations and individuals (if any); advise and propose solutions to completely handle each specific problem according to the provisions of law, in accordance with actual conditions.
The Provincial Economic Zone Construction Investment Project Management Board and the People's Committee of Song Tri Ward, according to their functions and urgent tasks: Review and submit to the Department of Finance for settlement of works and components of compensation, support and site clearance costs that have sufficient documents and ensure conditions in accordance with the provisions of law.
Review and provide contents and documents related to the Project, propose solutions to handle existing contents and problems to Working Group 720 before July 20, 2025.
The Son Duong Steel and Port Complex Project of Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation (FHS) was granted an investment certificate by the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board in 2008.
Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation has completed the construction of the first phase, including a steel factory with 2 high furnaces with a loose output of 7 million tons/year;
The seaport has 17 completed wharves, of which 14 wharves have been put into operation (13 commercial wharves and 1 public service wharf) with the amount of cargo loading reaching about over 29 million tons/year; the thermal power plant has a power generation plant with an installed capacity of 650 MW.
