Waste is everywhere
Ia Hrung pine forest and the forestry area around the scenic Lake are places that tourists often visit. However, in recent times, people and tourists have been upset about the situation of waste causing environmental pollution.
In the pine forest near Pleiku ward, which is planned and preserved as an eco-tourism destination, household waste, plastic packaging, decomposed animal carcasses give off a foul smell, piles of substances spilling onto the road.
Along the road along the pine forest, there are 3-4 garbage collection points but they are not collected and treated promptly, causing a strong stench.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai, residing in Pleiku ward, said: On weekends, my family and friends often go to pine hills to camp, have fun, and enjoy the fresh air. However, the mountain of garbage here looks very shabby, foul, and has many flies, everyone is upset.
Previously, the local government planned and preserved the decades-old pine forest area, combining residential areas with eco-tourism and resorts. pine forest is also a familiar and famous tourist destination for mountain town residents.
The situation of garbage piled up along the road, not being treated promptly, is affecting the landscape and tourism image of the locality.

Risk of water pollution
In Nhing village, Bien Ho commune, spontaneous landfills have become a nightmare for people in recent months.
Every day, dozens of garbage trucks from neighboring residential areas flock here, creating a huge untreated landfill. The strong stench, garbage flows onto the road, and flies are everywhere, seriously affecting people's lives.
Since the merger, funding has been cut, Bien Ho commune no longer has enough budget to maintain garbage collection activities, leading to widespread dumping until now.

Worryingly, the landfill is not far from the scenic tourist area of Pleiku Lake. People are afraid that leachate will flow into the environment, seeping into the lake of the Lake right next to it.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hien - Vice Chairman of Bien Ho Commune People's Committee said: "In the immediate future, the locality is coordinating with specialized deodorization units to temporarily handle the problem to limit the spread of pollution. In the long term, the commune will study planning options, build fixed garbage collection points, and have a collection and treatment system in accordance with standards".
