On June 19, Ninh Binh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital said it had just received and treated a severe poisoning case caused by a niacu snake bit, the victim was a 7-year-old boy residing in Kim Son district.
According to the family, at around 3am, while sleeping alone on the 2nd floor, N.A.N was suddenly run over by a congested langur. At 7am, the child was found to have unusual signs such as facial paralysis, difficulty speaking, and vomiting. The family checked and discovered a bite in the right thigh and immediately took him to the emergency room.
At the Emergency Department, the child was admitted to the hospital with paralysis of the incense table, collapsed eyelids, difficulty opening the mouth, and rapidly progressive respiratory failure. The hospital determined that this was a case of neurotoxining caused by a niacuous snake bite, treated it with emergency treatment, placed it in the endotracheal tube and urgently transferred it to the Intensive Care - Anti-Poison Department for intensive treatment.
According to doctors at Ninh Binh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, niac snake belongs to the tiger snake family, the most venomous insect that affects the central nervous system, paralyzing muscles, especially respiratory muscles. If not given timely emergency care, the person bitten can easily die.
The image of the snake provided by the family helps the doctor accurately identify the species. It is worth noting that the snake crawled through the air conditioning pipe and crawled into the house through a pine hole that had not been carefully sealed when installed.
According to experts, in addition to snake, many other animals such as mice, herons, and cockroaches can also enter the air conditioner, causing fire or endangering their lives.
