According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper on January 20, with less than 2 weeks left until the Lunar New Year 2025, on Tran Hung Dao, Tran Phu streets and especially An Duong Vuong street (Lao Cai city), the spring flowers are more brilliant than ever.
Through observation, on the banks of the Red River, pots of peach, kumquat, and apricot blossoms have been transported by traders to display, ready to serve the needs of consumers.
Not only that, the riverside road with all kinds of flowers has also attracted many young people to come and save memories at the end of the year.
Hoang Thi Nga (Nam Cuong ward, Lao Cai city) shared: "Taking advantage of the end of the year, this street is selling Tet flowers, so my friends and I came here to take pictures. I didn't expect that after the historic storm and flood, Lao Cai still has so many beautiful flowers and ornamental plants."
According to research, the Tet flower market of Lao Cai city was launched on January 16 to create a spring atmosphere for people and become a place for traders to display flowers at the end of the year.
Mr. Bui Van Thang (Lao Cai ward, Lao Cai city) said: “The city’s spring flower market is very bustling this year. After the storm and flood, people want to go out and experience the Tet atmosphere to forget the worries of the old year. Along with that, if they choose a suitable ornamental plant, they will buy it to decorate the house to make it more cozy.”
At the market along the Red River, besides the basic flowers such as peach, apricot, kumquat, there are also other types such as orchids, apricot blossoms, bonsai trees...
Bringing peach trees from the highlands to the city with the hope of selling them quickly so that he can return home to celebrate Tet with his family, Mr. Giang A Tinh (Sa Pa town) said: “The flower market in Lao Cai city has started to have people coming to visit and shop these days. Peach prices also vary from a few million to tens of millions depending on the tree and model.
For beautiful peach trees, the price can be up to hundreds of millions. Hopefully, this year I will sell them quickly so I can come home and gather around a small meal with my family."
At this flower market, not only real flowers but also some bonsai made from copper wire are displayed for people and tourists to see.
Through research, these handicrafts are made by soldiers, priced from 500,000 VND to over 1 million VND/tree.
