On August 29, the Project Management Board of Long Thanh International Airport (Long Thanh airport) directed contractors and supervision consulting units to strengthen construction organization on holidays and public holidays.
The completion time of component project 3, Long Thanh airport phase 1 project as required by the Government is not much longer. Therefore, the requirements for progress, quality and construction organization are extremely urgent.
To ensure the overall progress of the project, the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board requests contractors to maintain normal construction during holidays and weekends; arrange sufficient manpower, machinery, equipment, and materials to ensure continuous construction activities, especially for items that are in the final sprint stage.

For cases of organizing construction at night, on holidays, contractors must proactively arrange sufficient manpower and necessary conditions. At the same time, absolutely ensure requirements on labor safety, security, environmental sanitation, lighting, fire prevention and fighting...
The Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board will strengthen inspection and supervision of the construction organization of contractors. In case contractors do not comply, do not meet the requirements for construction organization or affect the overall progress of the project, they will record, make records and request contractors to rectify, and if necessary, handle according to the contract regulations.
During the National Day holiday (from August 29 to September 2, 2026), the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board requests contractors to proactively develop and send construction plans during the holiday.
According to the plan, from September 2026, Long Thanh airport will begin trial operation and will be put into commercial operation by the end of 2026.
According to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), on the construction site of component project 3 of Long Thanh airport, there are an average of 7,170 workers directly constructing. ACV said it needs about 9,000 direct workers and an indirect team to accelerate internal work and complete dossiers.
The Long Thanh airport project reaches level 4F according to the classification of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), with an investment scale of 100 million passengers/year and 5 million tons of cargo/year. In which, phase 1 builds 2 runways, 1 passenger terminal and synchronous auxiliary items, with a capacity of 25 million passengers/year and 1.2 million tons of cargo/year; completion time and commissioning time at the end of 2026.
